The small print
One page, three jobs — disclosure, privacy, terms — written the way we'd want to read them. Last revised 20 September 2026.
How we earn (affiliate disclosure)
Some links on Narrowcast are affiliate links. If you click one and buy or subscribe, the vendor may pay us a commission. It never costs you extra, and it never edits our verdicts — the proof being all the paragraphs on this site telling specific readers not to buy the affiliated products.
Our rules for these links: they are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code; a plain-language disclosure sits beside every call-to-action button, not buried down here; vendors we link without any affiliate relationship are labeled that way at the link; and every recommendation set on this site includes at least one option that pays us nothing. As of this revision, our affiliate relationships are with Krisp and TechSmith (Camtasia). Loom, Telestream (ScreenFlow) and the OBS Project pay us nothing and are linked purely on merit. Prices and plan limits quoted anywhere on this site carry the date we verified them against vendor documentation.
Privacy
We're a static publication. We don't run accounts, comments, newsletters or forms, so we have nothing you typed to lose. The site uses a standard web-analytics tool to count visits and see which pages get read — aggregate numbers, used for editorial decisions and nothing else. We don't sell or share visitor data. Outbound vendor links take you to companies with their own privacy policies and their own appetite for cookies; affiliate links in particular may set a cookie so the vendor can attribute a purchase. What happens on a vendor's domain is governed by their policy, not ours — that's not us dodging responsibility, it's us telling you where the responsibility actually sits.
Terms of use
Narrowcast is editorial information, offered in good faith and verified where dated — but software changes faster than any publication, and your recording chain, room and ears are your own. Check vendor documentation before purchase decisions; run trials before subscriptions. We're not liable for outcomes of following (or creatively misunderstanding) our advice, and nothing here is professional engineering, legal or accessibility-compliance counsel.
Our words are ours: you're welcome to quote reasonably with a link, and not welcome to republish pages wholesale. Product names and trademarks — Loom, Camtasia, ScreenFlow, OBS, Krisp, and every platform we mention — belong to their respective owners; we're independent of and unaffiliated with all of them beyond the disclosed affiliate links above.
Corrections and contact
Found an error? We fix pages and note the fix — our About page explains the standard. The desk reads its mail at the address in the site's DNS records' registrant details, or via the contact route on our verified social profiles once those exist; this line will be updated when a proper inbox goes live.
